Police Reserve Officer Program is made up of a diverse group of individuals
committed to preserving Maryland's Natural Resources and enforcing the laws
of Maryland. Along with educating the people of Maryland.
The Reserve Officers are volunteers
who give their time and talents to the State of Maryland. The perform many
duties. Duties range from answering phones to staking out criminals. They
also teach adults and children on boating and hunting safety.
Reserve Officers can be seen at boat
shows, riding along with Natural Resource Police Officers, teaching
Waterwise Classes, doing Boat Safety Checks and Marine Sanitation Device
checks, at various tradeshows and wherever needed.
The state is divided up in four regions
Central, Eastern, Southern and Western. Each region has a Reserve Officer
Coordinator. The Coordinator is in charge of setting up, recruiting and
supervising the Reserve Officers. There are about 200 active Reserve
Officers in the State of Maryland
